my girl
Slowly making my way to the bow, 4 pieces to go, but i need to cut the rabbet for the 4mm to go into and then shape the tricky bit that butts up to the stem.... I used a few tapered pieces to bring the ply to the correct angle to arrive at the bow, nice looking from the inside and not seeing daylight, makes it feel more boat-like.
This site is dedicated to the restoration of My Girl, a planing launch built in 1925 by Dick Lang. She is a square bilge vessel based on a design by W.H.Hand. Originally powered by a 6 cylinder 90hp Scripps engine she was capable of over 18 knots.
