MY GIRL
MY GIRL
First day back in a while, I sanded the btm and chine so i could get the chine and transom seams taped up ready for the glass, I cheated a bit and stapled the double bias tape in place, then epoxied over this. I decided at this stage to glass half the transom. I have finally figured out how to use peel ply, so i’ll see tomorrow if it worked. Once this was done I decided to fill the open seams in the skeg. I tightened the bolts holding it on but no change, so i mixed a runny brew. and taped up the gaps, then poured it in. This also seemed to work, updates tomorrow.
This site is dedicated to the restoration of My Girl, a planing launch built in 1925 by Dick Lang. She is a square bilge vessel based on a design by W.H.Hand. Originally powered by a 6 cylinder 90hp Scripps engine she was capable of over 18 knots.
