Friday I completed the sanding to the bow and prepped the boat for glassing Sat. Saturday I purchased some more glass and peel ply and then glassed the boat to the bow. I ran some double bias down the stem to give it some more meat. Sunday I removed the peel ply and started on the capping that goes around the deck. I ripped down one of the 4m lengths of Kauri I have stored away and made something that looks like the capping that was on when I purchased the boat. Today I spent the morning putting the bevel on the top of the capping. Then started to fit it. Lets chalk it up as a fail. I need to steam it next time. The largest of the broken pieces got relegated to the stern as the cap there. Then I persuaded one of the guys at the yard who’s a fairing expert to show me what to do, so then i ended up with a transom covered in fairing compound.... I think i’m on the long board tomorrow...... Also had a visit from Engineer Nate.... my prop is 19” x 14.5 seems ok....
